Cashback processing, approval and declined cashback
Why cashback does not always appear immediately, why it starts as pending and when a purchase can be declined.
How long does it take for cashback to appear in my account?
For some stores, cashback may appear in your Bumili account within a few minutes or hours. For others, it may take several days because the purchase information first needs to be processed by the store or affiliate network. If cashback does not appear immediately, it does not always mean it is lost. Sometimes purchase data is reported with a delay. The timing depends on the store, the affiliate network and the type of purchase.
Why is my cashback pending?
Pending status means that the purchase has been tracked, but it has not been fully approved yet. Bumili can see that the order was registered, but the store still needs to check whether the purchase is valid. This is a normal part of the cashback process. The store needs to confirm that the order was not cancelled, returned, changed or made with a coupon that does not qualify for cashback. Until the store or affiliate network approves the purchase, cashback remains pending.
When does cashback become available?
Cashback becomes available after the store or affiliate network approves the purchase. This usually happens after the return or cancellation period has ended. For example, if a store allows returns within 14 and 30 or more days, cashback may stay pending until the store confirms that the order was not returned or cancelled. For travel, hotels and services, cashback is often approved only after the service has been used.
Which amount is cashback calculated from?
Cashback is usually calculated from the eligible order amount reported by the store or affiliate network. Depending on the store rules, delivery fees, taxes, VAT, service fees, gift cards, discounts, returned items or excluded categories may not be included. Always check the store rules before buying.
Why can the cashback amount differ from what I expected?
The amount can differ because the cashback rate may depend on the product category, country, customer type, coupon, commission reported by the store, currency conversion, cancelled items or a partial return. The final amount is based on what the store or affiliate network approves.
Why was my cashback declined?
Cashback may be declined if the store or affiliate network does not approve the purchase. In that case, Bumili usually does not receive commission either, so we cannot pay cashback to the user. Common reasons include cancelled or returned orders, changed orders, incomplete payments, incompatible coupons, another cashback or advertising link being opened before purchase, a browser extension overwriting the tracking, or ad blockers, Brave, VPNs and privacy settings blocking the tracking. Cashback may also be declined if the specific product, category, country or order type is excluded from the store’s cashback rules.
Can I use coupons and still receive cashback?
Sometimes yes, but not always. If the coupon is shown on the store’s website or in the Bumili offer, it is usually safer. Coupons from other coupon websites, advertising campaigns or affiliate platforms may overwrite Bumili tracking. This means the store may attribute the purchase to another partner instead of Bumili. In that case, cashback may not be added, even if you visited the store through Bumili before buying. Always check the store rules before using a coupon.
Can cashback be combined with sales?
Usually yes, if the store allows it and the purchase is tracked correctly through Bumili. In many cases, cashback can work during sales as well. However, some promotions, coupon combinations, product categories or special offers may have reduced cashback or may be excluded from cashback completely. Always check the cashback rules for the specific store on Bumili before buying.
