Purpose of This Policy
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how Bumili uses cookies and similar technologies, what types of cookies may be used, how you can manage cookie preferences, and what happens if cookies are disabled.
This Policy forms part of our Terms of Service and should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies allow a website to remember information about your visit, such as your login session, preferences, referral attribution or technical settings.
Cookies may be temporary session cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which remain on your device for a defined period unless you delete them earlier.
Similar technologies, such as local storage, session storage, pixels, tags or device identifiers, may also be used for similar purposes. In this Policy, we refer to these technologies together as "cookies" where appropriate.
How Cookies Are Usually Used
Websites commonly use cookies to:
- keep users logged in;
- protect accounts and prevent abuse;
- remember language, region or display preferences;
- measure website performance and usage;
- understand which pages or features are used;
- connect referrals, tracking links or affiliate attribution;
- support payments or third-party integrations;
- show relevant marketing or advertising where allowed.
How Bumili Currently Uses Cookies
Bumili uses cookies and similar technologies for essential service functionality, login sessions, referral tracking, security, analytics and, where available, payment or third-party integrations.
We use cookies to help users stay logged in, protect account access, maintain basic website functionality and remember referral attribution when a user visits Bumili through a referral link.
We may use Google Analytics cookies and similar analytics technologies where the user has provided the required consent. We may also use Meta Pixel (Facebook Pixel) and related marketing technologies only after the user accepts marketing cookies. We may also use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for payment providers, infrastructure providers and security services, including Stripe and Cloudflare, to provide their services.
Types of Cookies
Different types of cookies may be used for different purposes:
- Essential cookies: required for the website and core Service features to work, such as login, security, session management and referral attribution.
- Functional cookies: used to remember preferences such as language, region, display settings or other choices.
- Analytics cookies: used to understand how visitors use the website, which pages are visited, and how the Service can be improved.
- Performance cookies: used to monitor website speed, errors, stability and technical performance.
- Marketing cookies: used to measure campaigns, personalize offers or show relevant advertising, where permitted.
- Payment, security or integration cookies: may be used by payment providers, security providers, infrastructure providers or other third-party integrations, such as Stripe, Cloudflare or similar services.

The exact technical cookie names may change as the Service develops. This table describes the current purpose and category of cookies used by the Service.
Essential Cookies
Essential cookies are necessary for the Service to work. They help provide login, account security, session handling, referral attribution, fraud prevention and core website functionality.
Because essential cookies are required to provide the Service, they may be used without separate optional consent. You can still block them in your browser, but some parts of the Service may stop working correctly.
Referral Tracking Cookies
Bumili may use referral tracking cookies or similar technologies when a visitor opens the Service through a referral link or referral code.
These cookies help us remember referral attribution so that, if the visitor creates an account or completes qualifying activity, the referral may be connected with the correct inviting user.
Referral tracking cookies do not guarantee that a referral reward will be approved. Referral rewards depend on referral program rules, account eligibility, cashback approval, fraud checks and other conditions described in our Referral Program Terms.
Analytics, Marketing and Payment Cookies
We may use analytics cookies, including Google Analytics 4 cookies, to understand how visitors use the Service, measure page views, route changes, events and traffic sources, and improve user experience.
Google Analytics is configured with consent controls. Analytics storage is denied by default before your choice where consent is required, and is updated only after you accept or reject analytics cookies.
We do not intentionally send email addresses, user IDs, order IDs, referral codes, sub IDs, wallet data, payout data or other sensitive account information to Google Analytics.
We may use Meta Pixel (also known as Facebook Pixel) to measure marketing campaigns and understand non-sensitive cashback shopping activity, such as page views, merchant page views, search use, registration completion, cashback link clicks and strong cashback intent.
Meta Pixel is not loaded before your marketing-cookie consent. If you reject marketing cookies, Meta Pixel is not initialized and Meta events are not sent. If you later accept marketing cookies, Meta Pixel may be loaded and a page view may be sent. If you withdraw marketing consent, Bumili stops firing Meta Pixel events where technically possible.
We do not intentionally send email addresses, phone numbers, names, wallet details, payout details, raw user identifiers, order IDs, referral codes, sub IDs or other sensitive account information to Meta Pixel.
Payment providers such as Stripe, and security or infrastructure providers such as Cloudflare, may use cookies or similar technologies to support payment processing, security, fraud prevention, website protection, performance and stability.
Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before placing non-essential analytics, marketing or third-party cookies on your device. You will be able to reject or manage non-essential cookies where such controls are available.
Third-Party Cookies
Third-party cookies or similar technologies may be used by providers such as Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Stripe, Cloudflare, fraud prevention tools, customer support tools or other integrations.
These third parties may process data under their own terms and privacy policies. Some third-party technologies may be necessary for security, payment processing or Service protection, while analytics or marketing technologies are used with consent where consent is required.
If our use of third-party cookies changes, this Policy will be updated to describe the relevant providers, purposes and cookie categories.
Cookie Consent
By using the Service, you agree that Bumili may use essential cookies that are necessary for login, account security, referral attribution and core Service functionality.
For non-essential cookies, such as analytics, marketing or certain third-party cookies, we will request your consent where required. You may be able to accept, reject or manage non-essential cookies through our cookie banner or cookie settings when these features are available.
For Google Analytics, the default consent state is denied before your choice, and your cookie selection updates that consent state. Meta Pixel is not loaded unless you accept marketing cookies.
You can withdraw or change your consent for non-essential cookies at any time where cookie controls are available.
Managing and Disabling Cookies
You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to delete cookies, block cookies, block third-party cookies or receive a warning before cookies are stored.
If you disable all cookies, some parts of the Service may not work correctly. For example:
- you may not be able to stay logged in;
- your session may expire unexpectedly;
- security checks may not work correctly;
- referral attribution may not be recorded;
- some account, cashback, referral or payout features may be unavailable or unreliable;
- we may not be able to remember your cookie preferences.
Data Collected Through Cookies
Cookies may collect or store limited technical information depending on the cookie type and purpose. This may include:
- session identifiers;
- authentication or security tokens;
- referral code or referral attribution identifiers;
- cookie consent preferences;
- browser and device information;
- IP address and approximate technical location data;
- date and time of visits or clicks;
- pages visited or actions taken on the Service;
- technical identifiers related to payment sessions, security or fraud prevention;
- technical logs related to security, errors or service operation.
We use this data to provide the Service, keep accounts secure, connect referrals, prevent abuse, maintain technical functionality, investigate issues and comply with applicable obligations.
Data Retention
Cookies are stored for different periods depending on their purpose. Session cookies may be deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies may remain for a limited period unless you delete them earlier.
Server-side records connected to cookies, such as login records, referral attribution, tracking records, security logs, analytics records, payment records or consent records, may be kept for longer where needed for service operation, fraud prevention, dispute handling, accounting, legal compliance or legitimate business purposes.
Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, including when we add new cookies, analytics tools, payment providers, referral features, security tools or other technologies.
The updated version will be posted on the Service with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after the updated Policy becomes effective means that you accept the updated Policy.
